So first we had the original SMTIII: Nocturne, marking the series´ first entry into the 128-bit gaming and bringing a whole new feel to the series. Then SMTIII: Nocturne MANIAX, applying new Demons, a whole new Amala Fiend Sidequest for the True Demon ending, and Capcom´s coolest Demonm Slayer, Dante, from he Devil May Cry series.
Now after 4 years from the original release, a new Revision of the game is brought forth as part of the Devil Summoner: Kuzunoha Raidou tai Avaddon O PLUS edition. Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne MANIAX Chronicle Edition.
The game features the same gameplay and content as in its previous MANIAX version. The Amala Sidequest for the True Demon Ending stays in place, and a new batch of Demons are in for the taking. The NEW Kagatsuchi is changed for SILENT Kagatsuchi, no other than a name change.
But the new thing, Capcom´s Demon Slayer is replaced by Atlus´ own Private Detective and Devil Summoner from the Taisho Era, Raidou Kuzunoha the 14th.
Yes, Raidou Kuzunoha. And this time, he plays a fiercer tole than Dante. Andtrue to its role, both Hitoshura, and Raidou Kuzunoha are speechless. (Rather than having a speechless and speechfull protagonists in Persona 2) All talking involving Raidou is done by Gouto-Douji, Raidou´s trusty Feline sidekick. All of Raidou´s attacks are straight ports of Dante´s attacks. Gunfire, a 4-slash combo with a Summon finish, and a Kotoi summon Boomerang attacking all enemies. Also, the Taunt attack.
Defy the awesomeness of Raidou, and you shall suffer the consequences from Yatagerasu´s Best Boy.
