| Soo.... my friend is in this Psychology class, and he had to perform an experiment, and for whatever reason, he forced me to come along with him... it was pretty funny anyway.
Basically, he had to do something out of the norm in public and record what reactions he gets.
We had a few good ideas. First, he wanted to try "invading personal space"... you know, like get really close to someone, but not touch them. I didn't think that was the greatest idea. Then I had an idea (which has been proven before), what you do is you have one person point at some random place, and a second person all like "woah!". Then a majority of people passing by are going to try to see what the person is pointing at, since most people are nosey by nature XD. Unfortunately, there weren't enough people around since it was right after school.
Then I had a better idea XD
There was a dollar store around there, so we went in and he bought this plastic zoro mask with a fake sword thing, and wore it around Shoprite. He's an idiot and didn't stay consistant, but whatever... the reactions were pretty funny. I told him to go around ask ask people for the time and see if they gave him a funny look or whatever. Then he decided to go around asking "Have you seen another guy running around with a mask?" which I found pretty stupid, since he's not a good actor, and didn't sound worried or anything. Most of the people just laughed and said no.
One guy was hilarious though. Some black guy that worked in the produce part was like "Woah, are you the Dark Knight or something?" and my friend was just like "....sure?" so then he saw us in some other part of the store and he started yelling "HEY ITS THE DARK KNIGHT! EVERYBODY LOOK! HE'S COME TO SAVE US!" Probably the best guy there.
One lady almost dropped the stuff she was carrying, and a couple of people completely ignored him.
I noticed two things with a lot of people, though. Either they'd stare when they thought he wasn't looking, or they'd purposely look away.
Idk, these things are pretty interesting. Anyone every read about/try any type of psychology experiment? |

| Ky and I (along with his friend Alicia) brought our Obama cutout to Wal-Mart. We shouted really loudly and walked around talking to the cutout and stuff. It was funny... does that count?
I've tried the getting close to someone thing before. It really creeps people out, especially if you're like me and you need your little bubble of at least one foot between you and other people.
I've always wanted to take a Psychology class, it sounds fun. Hopefully I get to do awesome stuff like this too. :3 |

| Well it kinda was for the same reason of seeing how people react... I just conducted a little test under a non-school-related circumstance. XD;;
But seriously, I've always wanted to study Psychology and the likes. I need to start looking at schools in Michigan (or maybe at least CLOSE to Michigan) with good Psycholody courses and stuff. XD |

| i saw this show where a guy did a bunch of mental things to mess with people, like swapping places with someone in the middle of giving directions to see if people noticed. There was even one where he placed a wallet full of money on the ground and drew a white circle around and everyone walked around it, never over it, never threw it, and they never payed attention to the wallet |

| One I did occurred at Campus, during Psychology. I started to cough (fake) as I exited the classroom in a hurry, and they just looked at me. 10 seconds later, I hit the wall with thud and lied down, pretending to be unconscious. The experiment was to see if anybody in that hallway would be curious enough to see what that sound was. It was curious enough to see a person actually step over me and then go to another classroom...bitch. Roughly twenty minutes after, I come back in the classroom after one of the Deans found me lying on the ground and asking me if I was ok (he actually offered to call 911 O_o). I come back in and say, "Man, I would've probably been dead by now if that was for real!"
Apparently, according to statistics, people have a tendency to put themselves first rather than help someone along the way, especially if they are late or are preoccupied with doing something else. >_> |

| Eh, there was a little something my friends and I used to do all the time. We'd suddenly point in a random direction and yell "Look, a distraction!" just to see if people would react before thinking.
Hilarity ensued, usually. Works on teachers, too.
Never really wanted to do Psychology though. Or rather I wanted to, but for the wrong reasons. >.>; |

| I do little experiments like this all the time. The Obama is only one of them. Another time, I decided to mess with Wal-Mart shoppers by standing outside the door and saying "Hey, be careful, the jeep is in the mud." There is no hidden meaning to that phrase, it exists solely to confuse people. I kept a list of the reactions in my mind. Most people ignored me, a few inquired as to what I meant (In which I said 'I don't know how I can make it any clearer, but the jeep is in the damn mud.'), and one guy flipped out about Ford. It was quite bizarre. |

I used to do similar ones, like pointing at your floor saying "You dropped your liver" or "Your pocket fell" or just something impossible and stupid. |

| A few years back, Saito lost a bet with me and we went around with two signs strapped to his front and back.
Front sign said: "I'm gay and I can make it rain."
Back sign said: "Honk the horn if you agree with me!!"
So I forced him to walk around the downtown with the sign and see what the reactions would be. He tells me he got at least 70 honks, two encounters with the cops, and a few threats to get jumped. XD |

| I took Anthropology, Psychology, and Sociology as a course in Grade 11, and we had to do a research project on something to do with observing people.
I did a research project on "Who is more likely to pick up a dropped wallet in a mall?" I went to the mall, picked up two pink wallets (wanted them to be as noticeable as possible) and filled them with paper notebooks. I walked into a crowded section of the mall, and dropped my first wallet and sat down nearby with a Bleach manga, and proceeded to take notes on peoples reactions.
...
I lost my first wallet as soon as it started, some lady stooped down, picked up the wallet, and literally ran as fast as she could, away with it. I blinked... and recorded that I lost my first wallet. XDD
I decided to write a note in the letter, telling them to call my number if they located the wallet. I put the second wallet down, and watched.
A group of old ladies picked up the wallet, and didn't look inside. They just placed it on this table that worked a table/garbage, and walked away. Then a child and his mother walked by, and the damn kid swept the wallet into the trash and walked away with his mother. You don't know how pissed I was to have to reach into the trash can, and pull the wallet out and replace it back where I dropped it last. XDD
The most amusing reaction is a brown guy who walked by, kicking the wallet over to the place I was sitting. The seats in the mall were double sided, so there the seats were basically two lines of seats back to back. I wasn't facing the wallet, so I would look less suspicious, writing stuff down, watching the wallet. He sat down RIGHT behind me, and opened the wallet, found the number, and called my cellphone. I can't tell you how hard I wanted to laugh when I picked up my phone, and started talking to the guy, who was right behind me. XDD
After he told me I lost my wallet, I twisted around, extended my hand, and said thanks. XDD He recoiled backwards, looking at me incredulously... and then asked if he was pranked, and was on T.V or something. XD
Best project I've EVER done. |

| Once, two years ago, in media arts, my friends and I were bored after some pointless filming, as class was about the end soon, and the courtyard was about to be swarming with students, making it unable to us to continue. So we decided to conduct a stupid experiment. Similar to the one person pointing and the other saying 'woah' and seeing how many people looked. Instead, the 5 of us stood there, looking up at the sky lights in the courtyard.
It was pretty amazing actually, nearly everyone that ended up walking through the courtyard, looked up in attempt to see what we were trying to look at. XD; |

1) Don't ruin my thread. 2) I didn't say I have proof that it's not true. I just doubt it. If you want reasons, I'll gladly tell you on MSN, although you're already embarrassing yourself as it is. 3) I didn't say it to "get you to start shit". I'm entirely entitled to believe what I want and to say so, especially in my own thread. Its not like I'm flaming you. 4) If you think your responses are going to start flames, then DON'T POST IT.

| Well, for what it's worth, Yume wasn't making up the story of what happened.
It happened a while back.
Though it wouldn't be a shock if a few details here and there were misplaced or forgotten. I mean, if you try it out, try to say the same story again and again, but without writing it down, just oral. No notes or reminders. Say it once, every hour. Later on, make the time-frame every day, then a week, and then a month. You'll notice that the story is never exactly the same each time. It could be the wording, or a specific detail, or something. It'll never be the same stuff each time.
Plus, and you can ask the peeps who've met back at Youmacon 07, I can be pretty crazy. |
